"You left me close-eyed, so I wouldn't see. Soon after, I was swallowed by the city and spit out."
Strength comes, not from cynicism, not from letting no one in, not from hardness, but from endurance without bitterness. Trials come. Inevitable. Sometimes they're dealt with by denial. Sometimes by our own strength. Sometimes by logic. Sometimes by tears. Sometimes by leaning on other people. Sometimes by solitude. How do we deal with trials? An infinite list. But along with these methods- some good, some bad- can rise bitterness. And if bitterness is the result of a trial, that trial has been wasted. Wasted trials lead to more bitterness. Only one method of dealing with trials brings true strength: knowing. When a trial comes, no matter what type it is, what time of your life it invades, or what part of you it affects, the same method holds true. Knowing. Knowing what? The answer to that question lies in one small phrase- seemingly insignificant, yet ultimately, the most important direction for humankind. From this phrase, a well-spring of true, beautiful strength flows. A spring that cannot be stopped.
"Be still, and know that I am God."

Strength is like love in that it's true meaning has become twisted by society. Disapointing. You got it though, strength isn't something found deep within ourselves, but strength comes from God. Sorry world, wrong again.....
